Oce VarioStream 6100 – End of Sales and Service
Oce VarioStream 6100 customers have received the “END OF SERVICE” notification that spells out the official end of Oce support on this printer, Year-End 2014.
The big flash fusion Oce VarioStream 6100 has always been treated as a bit of a secondary, small-fry, strange-duck in the product line.
Consider these comments from the Canon/Oce websites and brochures:
– “You’re looking for a solution for printing short runs?”
– “…suited for medium-print volumes, the Océ VarioStream 6100 is the entry-level model”.
– “…used as a branch office printer, decentralized office system or as a universal system for special applications”.

VarioStream replacement printers for the Oce VarioStream 6100
Since the demise of the Oce VarioStream 6000, Oce has offered and then withdrawn from sales two versions of the Oce 7100 VarioStream. Currently, Oce does not offer any flash-fusing printer product, and the entry-level Oce VarioStream 4000 is at least twice the entry-cost of other market options for you.
Both of these different product styles/types have been withdrawn from sales and soon to be withdrawn from service. An Oce customer has confirmed the dates as they were made aware. The 7120/7160 go to End of Service in 2019; The 7110/7170 will leave service in 2021.
